It’s very important for us to solve the exhaust gas pollution problem by carrying out the more strict vehicle emission standard.
In 2009, even facing the strike of economic crisis, Europe, America and Japan still carried out the more strict vehicle emission standard.
On 1st, September, the European Union began to implement the fifth-generation “Eur. V Emission Standard”. The sixth-generation “Eur. VI Emission Standard” will be fully carried out in the end of 2012.
On 16th, September, the government of United States issued the oil consumption and CO2 emission standard focusing on the vehicles between 2012 to 2015, requiring that the vehicles in 2016 should reach the standard which is lower than 55.37g/km emission.
To reduce the NOx and PM discharged by passenger cars, trucks, buses, etc., the Japan MLIT(Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport) formulated the most strict “ new long-term regulation” of exhaust emission standard, which will be implemented in an all-round way in October this year.
The main developing countries are all trying their best to issue the more strict vehicle emission standard. China should also keep in with the times!
From 2008, China began to carry out the “State III” emission standard”across the country, which is equal to the European “ Eur. III” emission standard. But the “ Eur. III” standard was actually carried out in Europe in 2000. And it has been replaced by the more advanced fifth-generation “Eur.V” emission standard now. That is to say, for the emission standard, China lags behind Europe for 9 years at present.
To improve the current situation fast, some provinces and cities in China have announced that they will carry out the forth-generation “State IV” emission standard in advance. Beijing and Shanghai will implement it this year, while Shenzhen,Xi’an and the whole Zhejiang province will also carry out it before the end of next year. With the enhancing environmental protection sense, the State IV standard will enter into the whole implementation stage nationwide in the next one or two years.
